The photo above shows a young woman smoking. In the 1900’s woman smoking was a new sight to see. Most women that smoked in this era were considered rebellious and sexy. It was illegal for women to smoke in this day and age so it was a risky thing to participate in. In this photo the woman is portrayed as desirable and intriguing.
