Chpt. 26 - Earth Day
On the above calendar,
as you can see I circled Tuesday April 22nd which is to represent Earth Day. Earth Day had originated in 1970 as a
day to learn and care for the environment. Earth Day is a yearly occasion that
occurs on the same day each year and happens to be recognized globally.
Motivated by the
anti-Vietnam War, Democratic U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin founded
Earth Day. In reading an article about Earth Day, it appears that the first
Earth Day event was an enormous hit even to the fact that it had “organized
itself.” Earth Day has definitely grown into something speculator with the growing
numbers of residents and nations getting involved with the environment.
