My father works as Chief Financial Officer at Wigglesworth
Machinery that is located in East Boston, Massachusetts, which was found by
Albert G. Wigglesworth Sr, in the year of 1928. Throughout the years since it
was founded they passed four wars and survived many economic “downturns”. They
have provided the highest character of used machines to their customers and
resolve to continue to provide first class used and reconditioned machinery.
Today, they occupy over fifty-five thousand square feet of
warehouse and office space that is run by heavy cranes and qualified mechanical
and electrical repair personnel along with experienced CNC specialists.
Machines they fix are metalworking such as shaping metal and steel like making
tools and aircraft parts.
The company present-day is run by Alfred G. Wigglesworth Sr,
grandson Alfred G. “Gifford” Wigglesworth III and several members of the
Wigglesworth family is resided in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

Machine tool companies in an area show that there is a manufacturing base. After the North Atlantic Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was passed during the Clinton Administration many of these companies closed in our area and went to Mexico--and then to China. Companies in existence like Wigglesworth show that there is still some manufacturing happening in the Boston area. Who knows, maybe manufacturing may even start to grow again.
